| Volunteer at Global Hospital |
We welcome qualified English / Hindi speaking nurses to volunteer in our hospital wards and ICU.
We also welcome junior doctors and medical interns interested in serving in a multidisciplinary secondary care hospital.
Exposure to community medicine
Volunteers are given an opportunity to accompany our mobile medical teams visiting remote villages and thereby, expose themselves to community medicine at a grassroots level.
Volunteers may also benefit from taking part in paediatric ophthalmology and community screening programmes for cataract and cleft lip/cleft palate.
What can you expect as a volunteer?
We offer volunteers shared (twin) accomodation and basic meals for nominal charges of rupees 200 per day. You would need to finance incidental personal expenses like laundry, photocopying, telephone and Internet usage etc.
At certain times of the year, we cannot offer volunteers accomodation. If you would still like to visit us during these dates, we will suggest alternate reasonably priced accomodation near the hospital.
Volunteers may make use of our library on a payment of rupees 500 as non-refundable charges.
Junior doctors and medical interns are placed under the overall guidance of Dr Sharad Mehta, Consultant ENT Surgeon at Global Hospital since 1995. Dr Mehta looks after the placement of medical officers in the wards.
